AlN

NTST has recently developed the unique capability to fabricate AlN coatlngs.  AlN is extremely difficult to fabricate as a coating due to its tendency to sublime at high temperature.

AlN possesses an ideal combination of material properties for use in electronic

applications.  These coatings can be used on a variety of different substrates

(e.g., aluminum, steel, aluminum nitride).  The coatings are stable at high service temperatures, exhibit very high thermal conductivity, and are resistant to attack from most molten salts.

AlN  can be used in electronic applications similar to those of alumina and beryllium oxide.  Other possible applications include: opto-electronic, dielectric, electronic substrates, military applications, crucibles, and semiconductor and steel manufacturing.

Extensive materials characterization is currently being conducted for this material. When this is accomplished this page will be updated to reflect this.  Currently, there is a preliminary downloadable brochures for this coating at thr bottom of the home page.
